May 15- External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday revealed that India had issued a prior warning to Pakistan before launching Operation Sindoor, clarifying that the operation was directed solely at terrorist infrastructure, not Pakistani military targets.
Addressing reporters in Srinagar, Jaishankar said, “We communicated clearly to Pakistan that our strikes were targeting terrorist camps. Their military had the option to stay out of the conflict, but they chose not to heed that advice.”
He pointed to satellite imagery to underscore the extent of damage inflicted during the operation. “The visuals from May 10 speak for themselves. They show the significant impact we made compared to the minimal damage we sustained. The difference is stark,” he noted.
Jaishankar further emphasized the shift in Pakistan’s stance following the operation. “Those unwilling to back down on May 7 were suddenly open to dialogue by May 10. It is evident who sought the ceasefire,” he remarked.
His comments were a response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims that Washington played a mediating role in facilitating the ceasefire between the two countries.
