The border districts of Jammu division remained peaceful overnight, with no reports of ceasefire violations, drone activity, or cross-border shelling, officials said on Sunday.
A senior official confirmed that the situation remained under control despite a heightened security alert following recent hostilities. “The night passed without incident. There were no reports of drones, firing, or shelling in Rajouri, Poonch, or other frontier districts,” the official said.
Security forces continue to maintain a high state of alert across Jammu and Kashmir amid ongoing tensions.
The overnight calm comes after a renewed ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, announced Saturday evening following US-brokered talks. However, within hours of the announcement, multiple forward areas reported violations, drawing a strong retaliatory response from Indian forces.
