Jammu and Kashmir, May 7, 2025 — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed support for the Indian government’s military response in the wake of the recent killing of 26 civilians in Pahalgam, which he described as “inhumane and barbaric.”
In a public statement shared via social media, Abdullah said it was expected that India would exercise its right to respond in an “appropriate and proportionate way.” Referring to Operation Sindoor, he noted that the Indian Defence Forces had made a deliberate effort to avoid civilian and military infrastructure across the border, stating that “they have only hit terror bases.”
