SRINAGAR: To boost preparedness for water-related emergencies, Srinagar Police, along with the Tourist Police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), carried out a large-scale mock rescue drill in Dal Lake on Monday.The exercise simulated emergency scenarios like boat capsizing and drowning to assess and improve real-time response and inter-agency coordination. It focused on sharpening rescue techniques and ensuring swift, organized action during potential crises.Participants were outfitted with essential rescue gear, and the SDRF contributed by enhancing logistical support and building response capacity for future emergencies, a police spokesperson said.Senior officials, including SSP Enforcement, SP Zone East Srinagar, SP Headquarters Srinagar, DySP Headquarters Srinagar, and DySP SDRF, were present to monitor the drill.Police emphasized that the exercise reflects their continued commitment to public safety and operational readiness in vulnerable zones like Dal Lake.
