SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has informed the public about scheduled power outages in several parts of the Valley, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and carrying out necessary maintenance activities. According to the Chief Engineer of Distribution, these planned shutdowns are crucial for improving power evacuation, upgrading lines, and installing vital components under the CAPEX scheme.
In the Srinagar-Budgam region, residents of Peerbagh, Humhama, Airforce, Sheikhpora, STC BSF, Hyderpora, and surrounding areas will experience power interruptions on April 23 and April 26, from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM. These disruptions are due to maintenance work at the 33/11 KV Receiving Station in Humhama, which includes installing GI components and laying conductors. This necessitates shutting down the 33kv Rawalpora Air Force line.
Similarly, in Budgam district, a scheduled shutdown of the 33kv Waterhail Tap line will take place on April 17 and April 21, from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM. This is part of the ongoing work to upgrade the 33kv Budgam-Parthan line, affecting power supply to areas including Samsaan, Parthan, Waterhail, PHE Substation, and their nearby regions.
In Bandipora district, power outages are expected on April 19 and April 22, from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, due to the installation of isolators and repairs on the 33kv Nehalpora (Markundal) line. Affected areas include Naidkhai, Markundal, Sumbal, Chandergeer, Ankul, Gund Boon, and the surrounding locations.
Additionally, on April 20, two significant lines in the Pampore area will undergo maintenance. The 33kv Pampore-SIDCO line will be shut from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM for stabilization and upgrades, impacting the Industrial Estate at Khrew and local cement plants. The 33kv Pampore-Pampore line will also be affected during the same hours, leading to power outages in Pampore, Khadermoh, Zewan, Tengan, and adjacent areas.
