One Dead, Another Injured in Quarry Accident in Kupwara

May 6: A labourer lost his life while another sustained injuries after being struck by a falling stone at a quarry site in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the Waterkhani area of Drugmulla when a stone dislodged during work at the site, hitting two workers.

Both labourers were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. However, one of them, identified as Habibullah Malik, a resident of Drugmulla, was declared dead on arrival. The second worker is currently undergoing treatment and is said to be in stable condition.

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident, and further investigation is underway.
