Lightning Strike Claims Life of Man in Kulgam

May 2: A man was killed after being struck by lightning during a sudden thunderstorm in the Gunsaigam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Padder, son of Mohammad Shaban, a resident of Gunsaigam. According to officials, the lightning strike occurred amid unexpected inclement weather in the region.

Padder sustained severe injuries at the scene and was immediately taken to a nearby health facility. However, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Authorities have expressed condolences to the bereaved family and advised the public to remain indoors and exercise caution during thunderstorms.
