Srinagar, May 01: In a bid to bolster healthcare services in remote and underserved regions of Jammu and Kashmir, the government has appointed 103 Medical Officers across the Union Territory.

According to officials, the newly recruited officers will be strategically posted at District Hospitals (DHs) and Sub-District Hospitals (SDHs) to enhance service delivery and address the shortage of medical professionals in far-flung areas.

Announcing the appointments on X (formerly Twitter), Health Minister Sakina Itoo stated, “Pleased to announce the appointment of 103 Medical Officers across J&K, strategically deployed to strengthen healthcare in remote and underserved areas. Specialists are being posted to DHs and SDHs to enhance service delivery.”

She further added, “This is a significant step toward building a healthier Jammu and Kashmir.”

The initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to bridge healthcare disparities and ensure equitable access to quality medical services across the region.
