Srinagar Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of contraband substances during a recent operation aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks in the city.
Acting on intelligence, a police team from Police Station Shaltang set up a checkpoint at Ranbirgarh, where they apprehended Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, son of Gulzar Ahmed Sheikh, a resident of Lawaypora. Upon searching the suspect, officers recovered a substantial quantity of a heroin-like substance from his possession.
Following the arrest, police registered a case under FIR No. 39/2025 at Police Station Shaltang under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
