Attari-Wagah Border, May 1 — Pakistani authorities on Thursday declined to open the Attari-Wagah border crossing for their own citizens, leaving dozens stranded on the Indian side.
Crowds began gathering at the border from 8:00 AM, but despite hours of waiting, no clearance was given. Officials from the Indian side confirmed that the delay was due to Pakistan’s refusal to open its gates, though no official reason has been cited so far.
Many among those waiting included elderly individuals and families seeking to return home. The situation remains tense as frustration grows at the border.
