Srinagar, April 29:
Minister for Social Welfare, Sakeena Itoo, on Monday conducted a detailed review of various social welfare schemes being implemented across Jammu and Kashmir. The review meeting focused on assessing the effectiveness of existing programs and identifying measures to enhance service delivery.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the need for a citizen-first approach, underlining the importance of ensuring that welfare benefits reach the intended beneficiaries without delay or disruption.
Itoo called for stronger community involvement in the planning and execution of welfare initiatives. She said that local participation can help bridge implementation gaps and ensure better outreach, especially in remote and underserved areas.
To improve accountability, the Minister directed the concerned departments to adopt robust monitoring systems and integrate technology-driven solutions to enhance transparency in the delivery of welfare services.
