New Delhi, April 28: The Congress party has questioned the central government over the steps it is taking to ensure the safe return of Border Security Force (BSF) constable Purnam Sahu, who inadvertently crossed into Pakistan and was detained by the Pakistan Rangers.

Sahu, a BSF jawan, was apprehended on April 23 while reportedly working in a farming field near Ferozepur in Punjab. The Congress, through its media and publicity department head Pawan Khera, expressed concerns over the prolonged delay in securing Sahu’s release. It has been six days since the BSF jawan was detained, and the opposition party is demanding immediate action from the government.

“The government must take urgent measures to ensure the safe return of our soldier,” Khera said, raising the alarm over the lack of progress on this matter.

The incident has sparked calls for diplomatic intervention, with many questioning why the matter has not been resolved sooner.
