New Delhi, July 25:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he had “very fruitful discussions” with Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, reaffirming India’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the island nation.
Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi emphasized that the Maldives remains at the heart of India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ and ‘Mahasagar Vision’. The discussions between the two leaders reportedly covered a wide range of sectors, including commercial and cultural linkages.
“We both agree that the India-Maldives friendship will always be bright and clear,” PM Modi stated.
He noted that India is honoured to work closely with the Maldives in areas such as housing, connectivity, infrastructure, defence, and digital technology. The leaders also acknowledged climate change and renewable energy as two vital pillars of ongoing bilateral cooperation.
