Tragic Incident: Mother of Two Dies After Self-Immolation in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: A woman tragically lost her life after setting herself on fire following a family dispute in the Hazratbal area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday.

According to officials, the woman, originally from Shalimar and married in Hazratbal, suffered severe burn injuries after dousing herself in kerosene. She was rushed to JLNM Hospital in Rainawari but succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

In response to the incident, senior police officials, including the SDPO of Zakura, the SHO of Nigeen, and the DO of Hazratbal, visited the scene to assess the situation.

A police spokesperson confirmed the woman’s death and shared that she was a mother of two young children. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.
