Srinagar, Dec 6:
Amid growing concerns and online speculation regarding the conduct of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) examination scheduled for December 7, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday issued a detailed clarification, terming the circulating social media posts as “misleading.”
In a series of posts, the LG stated that Lok Bhavan had received a file from the concerned department on December 2, 2025, and that the file pertained solely to the issue of age relaxation for candidates.
According to the LG, the file was returned the same day with a query asking whether it would be “logistically possible” to hold the examination on December 7 while incorporating changes to the eligibility criteria at such a late stage.
“Despite the lapse of four days, Lok Bhavan did not receive any response,” the LG noted, placing responsibility for the delay on the concerned department’s failure to revert with clarifications.
Expressing concern for the aspirants caught in the uncertainty, LG Sinha added, “I fully sympathize with young aspirants.”
The JKPSC had issued the advertisement notice for the exam on August 22, 2025, followed by a formal notification on November 6, 2025, announcing the examination date as December 7.
The LG’s clarification comes at a time when thousands of aspirants have voiced anxiety over the lack of clear communication regarding eligibility changes and the examination schedule. His statement seeks to counter misinformation while urging departments to maintain accountability and timely decision-making.
