J&K Govt Assigns In-Charge IGP Roles to Four IPS Officers

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday assigned In-charge Inspector General of Police (IGP) responsibilities to four IPS officers with immediate effect in the interest of administration.

As per Government Order No. 298-Home of 2026 dated May 20, 2026, the officers appointed as In-charge IGPs are Shakti Kumar Pathak, currently serving as Assistant Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), JK, and holding additional charge of Director ACB; Mohd Haseeb Mughal, DIG Traffic Jammu; Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, DIG IR Kashmir; and Shahid Mehraj Rather, Director Police Telecom, JK.

The order further stated that their detailed posting orders will be issued separately.
