Srinagar, Nov 1: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday addressed the ‘Self Reliant India Fund Outreach’ event held in Srinagar.

During his address, the Lt Governor congratulated the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), National Venture Capital Fund Limited (NVCFL), Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), and the Department of Industries and Commerce for what he termed a “landmark initiative” aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Union Territory.

Sinha said the outreach programme marks a significant step towards connecting the region’s start-ups and MSME entrepreneurs with venture capital firms and institutional investors. He highlighted that such initiatives will play a key role in fostering innovation, encouraging self-reliance, and generating new employment opportunities across J&K.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Lt Governor wrote: “We must leverage the existing strengths, better infrastructure, build strong linkages between J&K’s industrial ecosystem and national financial institutions and bridge the funding gap for MSMEs & startups.”

Sinha reiterated the government’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for start-ups and small businesses to thrive, emphasising that J&K is steadily emerging as a hub of innovation and enterprise.
