SRINAGAR: Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday announced that all examinations in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted as per the academic calendar.

She acknowledged that students’ studies were disrupted by a “war-like situation,” extreme weather, and recent floods that also damaged some schools. However, she stressed that the exam schedule would not be altered.

The minister said the department is consulting stakeholders on ways to compensate for academic losses. “Last year, we shifted the session from March to November-December, which was a major challenge. Now, it has been largely streamlined,” she added.
