Kyiv, April 24: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is returning home early from a diplomatic visit to South Africa after Russian missile strikes targeted the capital city, Kyiv.
The attacks, which struck critical infrastructure and residential areas, mark one of the most intense assaults in recent weeks. Zelenskyy said the safety of the Ukrainian people remains his top priority.
“In light of the barbaric attacks on our capital, I am urgently returning to Ukraine,” he stated.
The trip was part of a broader effort to strengthen Ukraine’s ties with nations in the Global South and rally international support against Russian aggression.
