Panama City, US — Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, heading the all-party delegation to the United States on Operation Sindoor, delivered a powerful and emotional address to the Indian diaspora, invoking grief, fury, and national resolve following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Describing the brutal nature of the attack, Tharoor said terrorists executed men in front of their wives, forcing the women to return alive with the trauma — and a chilling message.
“Some women cried out, ‘The terrorists killed me too,’” Tharoor said. “And the terrorists told them, ‘No, go back. Tell others what happened to you.’ We heard, we heard their cries.”
Tharoor emphasized that Operation Sindoor was not only a military response but also a symbolic act of justice and solidarity with the victims.
“The terrorists wiped the sindoor—the symbol of marriage and life—from the foreheads of 26 women by killing their husbands and fathers,” he said. “India decided that the colour of the sindoor, that sacred vermilion, will now match the colour of the blood of the killers—the perpetrators, the attackers.”
