The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reaffirmed that the upcoming film Dhurandhar has no connection to Ashoka Chakra awardee Late Major Mohit Sharma, bringing major relief to the makers, including actor Ranveer Singh.
Following a Delhi High Court directive on December 1, 2025, the CBFC conducted a fresh review in response to objections raised by the officer’s parents. In its latest communication, the Board stated that Dhurandhar is entirely fictional and bears no resemblance—direct or indirect—to Major Sharma’s life or military service.
The CBFC also pointed out that the film carries a clear disclaimer asserting that all characters and events are fictitious, further supporting its conclusion to reject the family’s objections.
