Traffic Suspended on Bandipora–Gurez Road After Fresh Snowfall

SRINAGAR: Authorities on Monday suspended vehicular movement on the Bandipora–Gurez road following fresh snowfall at Razdan Top, the gateway to Gurez Valley.SDM Gurez, Mukhtar Ahmad, said the 84-km road was closed as a precautionary measure to ensure traveller safety. “Traffic will resume once the weather improves,” he added.Snowfall has also been reported at Zojila and upper Sonamarg. Officials warned that if the snowfall continues, the Srinagar–Leh highway may also be closed to prevent mishaps.
