Srinagar: Srinagar Police has been awarded the title of Best Performing District in the North Zone for its outstanding success in recovering lost and stolen mobile devices through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.

The honour was presented by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, during the Annual Security Conference for North Zone LSAs and LEAs held recently in Himachal Pradesh.

This recognition highlights the remarkable efficiency of Srinagar Police in tracing and retrieving nearly 900 mobile phones, collectively valued at around ₹3.5 crore.

The achievement reflects the force’s professionalism, technological proficiency, and unwavering commitment to public service.

To acknowledge the team’s efforts, SSP Srinagar, Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy (IPS), felicitated the officers with Certificates of Appreciation. The team operated under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Ms. Syed Sleet Shah, and included Inspector Mohd Aslam, Inspector Mohd Iqbal, and Constable Yawar Majid of District Police Srinagar.

While presenting the certificates, the SSP praised the officers for their exceptional dedication and urged them to sustain their momentum with continued perseverance and a citizen-centric approach.

Srinagar Police reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing public safety and improving citizen services through technology-driven policing initiatives.
