New Delhi/Jammu, May 10 – The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday announced that it had “completely destroyed” a terrorist launchpad located in Looni, situated in Pakistan’s Sialkot district, directly across from the Akhnoor sector in Jammu.
The action came in retaliation to an unprovoked firing initiated by Pakistani forces on BSF positions along the International Border late Friday night. According to officials, the cross-border firing began around 9 PM and targeted forward posts in the Jammu sector.
In a statement, a BSF spokesperson said the destruction of the launchpad was a direct and calibrated response to continued ceasefire violations from across the border.
The incident highlights the persistent volatility along the Indo-Pak border, particularly in sensitive regions like Jammu and Kashmir, where security forces remain on high alert to prevent infiltration and neutralize emerging threats.
