SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said snowfall remains the most crucial factor for boosting tourist arrivals in Kashmir, especially in a year that has been challenging for the tourism sector.
Speaking to reporters, he told KNO that while business-to-business engagements help, “promotion and marketing continue to play the biggest role in driving tourism growth.”He noted that 2025 has been tough for destinations like Pahalgam, Delhi, and Nowgam, with November remaining dry.
“We’re now hoping for good snowfall in December,” he said, adding that although tourists are still visiting major spots, a fresh spell of snow would greatly improve winter tourism.
The CM expressed optimism that snowfall would uplift the season and make Christmas and New Year more promising for the industry.
