Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr. G. N. Itoo, visited Sainik School Manasbal to inspect the entrance test center established for admissions to classes 6th, 9th, and 11th.

During his visit, Dr. Itoo reviewed the facilities and interacted with students. He emphasized the importance of discipline and transparency in examinations, urging officials and staff to ensure a fair and smooth conduct of the test.

He informed that two examination centers—one at Sainik School Manasbal and another in Kargil—had been set up for the entrance test, with a total of 850 students appearing. Participants included students from all districts of UT Ladakh and Kashmir province.

Speaking about the reopening of schools after the winter break, Dr. Itoo confirmed that all necessary arrangements had been made for the resumption of classes on March 1st. He announced that the reopening day would be celebrated as ‘Welcome Day’, with teachers returning to their duties and making the occasion joyful for students.

Additionally, from March 1st to March 15th, a special ‘Enrollment Drive’ will be conducted across Kashmir, involving school heads, teachers, and students. The department has set up a monitoring system to ensure its success and to make sure no child is left out of school.

Dr. Itoo urged parents to enroll any out-of-school children, emphasizing that every child in the Kashmir division should benefit from the government’s free education initiatives.
