Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah called for a decisive fight against terrorism and its origins. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Abdullah praised the people of Kashmir for openly and spontaneously rejecting terrorism and the killing of innocent civilians.
“People of Kashmir have come out openly against terrorism and the murder of innocent people, they did this freely & spontaneously,” the CM Posted on X.
He stressed the importance of building on this public support, cautioning against any actions that might alienate the local population. “Punish the guilty, show them no mercy but don’t let innocent people become collateral damage,” he said.
Abdullah’s remarks come amid growing concerns about security in the Valley and highlight the need for a balanced approach that distinguishes between militants and civilians.
