Srinagar, May 25: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Monday visited the revered Hazratbal Shrine to assess preparations for the forthcoming festival of Eid-ul-Adha.
During the visit, senior officials from various line departments accompanied the Lieutenant Governor to review arrangements being made for devotees expected to gather at the shrine during the auspicious occasion. The LG directed the concerned officers to ensure that all necessary facilities are put in place efficiently and with utmost diligence.
The Lieutenant Governor also held a detailed meeting with Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chief Imam of the shrine, Mufti Reyaz ul Haq, and senior civil and police officials, including the DIG, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, SSP, and Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
Discussions focused on ensuring uninterrupted water and electricity supply, proper sanitation, traffic management, and other civic amenities to facilitate smooth celebrations during Eid-ul-Adha.
Highlighting the spiritual significance of the festival, the Lieutenant Governor said Eid-ul-Adha symbolizes humility, sacrifice, and charity, and inspires people to work for the welfare of humanity. He emphasized that the administration is committed to making the celebrations well-organized, peaceful, and spiritually vibrant.
