May 2 | Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Meteorological Department has forecast a spell of unsettled weather across the region from May 2 to May 5, warning of scattered rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds at various locations.
According to the latest weather bulletin, moderate to intense showers accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h are expected in parts of the Union Territory during this period. The department has advised residents, especially those in vulnerable areas, to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
“A brief improvement is expected between May 6 and 8, with mostly dry weather likely during this window,” a Met official said. “However, another fresh spell of rain and thunderstorms is anticipated between May 9 and 11.”
The advisory cautioned against venturing into hilly or landslide-prone areas during inclement weather and urged farmers and travelers to plan accordingly.
