SRINAGAR, Apr 16: To ensure a smooth and seamless Hajj pilgrimage for 2025, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, on Tuesday instructed all relevant departments and agencies to coordinate their efforts effectively.
While presiding over a high-level meeting to assess the readiness for this year’s pilgrimage, the Divisional Commissioner emphasized the need for comprehensive arrangements and directed officers to intensify preparations.
The meeting saw participation from Deputy Commissioners across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, along with senior officials from the Airports Authority of India, Police, Customs, Emigration, Roads & Buildings, Health, PHE, KPDCL, MED, Traffic, Transport, Information, Hospitality & Protocol, CISF, Air Force, J&K Bank, Haj Committee, and other concerned departments.
Stressing the spiritual and logistical importance of the pilgrimage, Bidhuri asked Deputy Commissioners to activate dedicated Hajj Cells within their offices to oversee local-level preparations. He also instructed the Health Department to establish medical camps and ensure timely completion of vaccinations, with certificates issued well in advance.
It was informed during the meeting that Hajj flights from Srinagar to Saudi Arabia are scheduled to start on May 4, 2025, and will conclude on May 15, 2025.
