SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two fugitives in Ganderbal who had been evading law for over 13 years, closing two long-pending criminal cases.
The accused — Mudasir Ahmad War of Batpora Sopore and Mushtaq Ahmad Wani of Lolpora Kunzar Tangmarg — were wanted in connection with FIR No. 34/2013 (Sections 392, 511, 34 RPC) and FIR No. 17/2013 (Sections 366, 109 RPC).
Acting on SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal’s directions, a special team led by SHO Safapora SI Gulzar Hussain traced the duo to Bangalore and Maharashtra, where they were arrested after sustained efforts.
Police said the arrests reaffirm their resolve that “crime has no expiry” and that no offender will remain beyond the reach of law.
