Crime Branch J&K, MHA Host UT-Level Anti-Human Trafficking Conference in Srinagar

Srinagar, August 21:
The Crime Branch Headquarters of Jammu & Kashmir Police, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, organised a one-day UT-level conference on Anti-Human Trafficking at Tagore Hall, Srinagar, to raise awareness about the growing threat of human trafficking, particularly in the digital age.

The event brought together senior police and judicial officers, government officials, NGOs, academicians, and students. Special DG Coordination, J&K Police, S.J.M. Gillani, IPS, was the Chief Guest. In his address, he stressed the need for collective societal efforts alongside law enforcement to tackle human trafficking. “Police alone cannot fight this battle. Society must step in to spread awareness and support enforcement,” he urged.

Sujit Kumar, IPS, IGP Crime Branch J&K, welcomed the participants. The conference was held under the guidance of DIG Crime and supervision of IGP Crime J&K.

Dignitaries in attendance included Alok Kumar, IPS, ADGP & Director Fire & Emergency Services J&K, Uttam Chand, IPS, IGP Headquarters PHQ, officials from Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Labour Department, BSF representatives, AHTU nodal officers, and students from Kashmir University and other local institutions.
