July 21: The Monsoon Session of Parliament opened amid chaos on Monday, with both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned shortly after convening. Opposition parties, led by the Congress, demanded a debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor.

The April 22 attack in Pahalgam claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists. In response, Operation Sindoor was launched, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “achieved its objective in 22 minutes,” demolishing the hideouts of those involved. He praised the operation as a display of India’s military strength and urged MPs to maintain unity during the session.
