Jammu, Monday: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was accorded a Guard of Honour on his arrival at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu, marking the formal opening of offices as part of the traditional Darbar Move.
The Chief Minister inspected the ceremonial parade and interacted with officers and staff on the occasion.
The biannual Darbar Move, a century-old practice, involves the shifting of the Jammu and Kashmir government offices between Srinagar and Jammu to ensure smooth administration during the changing seasons. With the Secretariat’s opening in Jammu, the winter session of government functioning begins in the winter capital.
