Srinagar, August 14: Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday expressed deep anguish over the cloudburst in Chositi village of Kishtwar district. In a post on X, Sinha conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The LG said he has directed officials from the Civil Administration, Police, Army, NDRF, and SDRF to strengthen rescue and relief operations and ensure every possible assistance to those affected. He also assured that the government stands “shoulder to shoulder” with the victims during this hour of crisis, adding that the Indian Air Force has been put on alert for evacuation efforts.
Sinha said rescue and relief operations at Chashoti are in full swing with men and machinery deployed at the site, while additional teams have been rushed to the area. He also briefed Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the ongoing operations, who in turn assured all possible support from the Centre.
