Srinagar, October 31, 2025: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq on Friday strongly condemned the renewed Israeli aggression in Gaza, describing it as a “blatant assault on humanity” that continues even after the announced ceasefire.

Addressing the Friday congregation at the historic Jama Masjid in Srinagar, the Mirwaiz expressed anguish over the relentless bombing of civilian areas, homes, and hospitals in Gaza, which has resulted in the tragic loss of countless innocent lives, including children.

“The continued killing of civilians reflects the complete collapse of humanity and morality,” he said. “The people of Palestine, despite unimaginable suffering, remain steadfast and courageous. Their pain is our pain, and their struggle is a struggle for all humanity.”

Dr. Farooq also voiced deep concern over the recent decision of the United States to resume nuclear testing after several decades, calling it an alarming move that undermines global peace and stability.

“At a time when the world is already torn by wars, crises, and humanitarian tragedies, such actions display recklessness and disregard for the collective well-being of humankind,” he remarked.

Emphasizing the urgent need for global responsibility and restraint, the Mirwaiz said, “The world today needs wisdom, justice, and compassion — not more weapons and wars. It is time for the global powers to de-nuclearize, demilitarize, and restore humanity before it is too late.”

He urged international leaders, organizations, and civil societies to rise above political interests and work towards a future grounded in peace and justice for all.
