In a moment of immense pride for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, both the University of Jammu and the University of Kashmir have been awarded the prestigious A++ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This rare academic milestone places J&K among the few regions in India where two public universities have secured top honors concurrently.
The University of Jammu achieved an impressive CGPA of 3.72, while the University of Kashmir followed closely with a CGPA of 3.68, both meeting the highest standards set by NAAC in its comprehensive evaluation of institutional performance, academic excellence, research output, and governance.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated the University of Kashmir on this significant achievement, calling it a proud moment for the entire UT.
“I congratulate the University of Kashmir for being awarded the prestigious NAAC A++ Grade with a CGPA of 3.68. This achievement reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality education,” LG Sinha said in a statement.
He also commended the dedication of the teaching faculty, students, and university leadership, noting that such recognition would inspire further advancements in the higher education sector across the region.
University officials and educationists welcomed the acknowledgment, stating that this dual achievement by both premier institutions will boost academic confidence and open new avenues for research collaborations, funding, and global academic partnerships.
