JK Government Nominates Nodal Officer to Assist Residents and Students in Iran

SRINAGAR, Thursday: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed concern over the safety and well-being of residents of the Union Territory, including students, who are presently in Iran.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said that the J&K Government has nominated the Additional Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, as the Nodal Officer to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Indian Embassy in Iran. The coordination will focus on documentation, advisories, and welfare support for J&K residents currently in the country.

“To ensure timely assistance and effective communication, a dedicated mechanism has been put in place,” the Chief Minister said.

The government has also issued helpline numbers for families seeking information or assistance regarding their relatives in Iran. Concerned families can reach out through the following contacts:
