Srinagar, Nov 7 : Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Friday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can never establish its base in Kashmir.
“BJP will take a hundred births but will never have existence in Kashmir. It’s a lion — if not to scare us, then who else?” Bukhari told reporters.
He said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should not complain about criticism, as it comes with being in power and failing to fulfil promises. “Had he delivered on his commitments, we wouldn’t be here today,” he remarked.
Bukhari emphasized that criticism of government policies is not personal and will continue until promises are met. Referring to the National Conference, he said its leaders must share both victory and defeat collectively.
He urged the government to allot the Ompora industrial estate to benefit Budgam residents and expressed concern over Kashmiri detainees held outside J&K. Bukhari also said the Apni Party would soon launch a campaign for general amnesty as pledged in its manifesto.( inputs from KNS)
