New Delhi, Thursday:
India’s indigenous defence technology capabilities received a major boost as the D4 Counter-Drone System and the Dharashakti Integrated Electronic Warfare (EW) System were conferred with the prestigious SKOCH Award in the Gold Category on Thursday.
The award recognises excellence in innovation, governance and technological advancement, highlighting the growing strength of India’s defence research ecosystem.
The D4 Counter-Drone System, designed and developed by four laboratories of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)—Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL), Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS), and Instruments Research and Development Establishment (IRDE)—is a comprehensive solution to detect, identify and neutralise hostile drones. The system integrates radar, radio frequency sensors, electro-optical systems and counter-measures, making it a critical asset for safeguarding sensitive installations and public spaces.
