Srinagar, June 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department, following the directive of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has designated all routes of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025 as “No-Fly Zones” from July 1 to August 10.
The decision comes in the wake of comprehensive security assessments and consultations with the Ministry of Home Affairs. This year’s Yatra is scheduled to take place from July 3 to August 9.To ensure the safe and uninterrupted conduct of the annual pilgrimage, all aerial activity—including drones, UAVs, balloons, and similar flying objects—will be strictly prohibited along the Pahalgam and Baltal routes.
However, exceptions will be made for medical evacuations, disaster response efforts, and official surveillance by security agencies. A detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for these exceptions will be issued in due course.
