New Delhi, October 10:
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on Friday handed over five ambulances to Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, reaffirming India’s continued humanitarian commitment to the Afghan people.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the ambulances are part of a larger consignment of 20 ambulances and other medical equipment being provided by India to strengthen healthcare services in Afghanistan.

The gesture reflects India’s long-standing support and solidarity with the people of Afghanistan.Over the years, India has extended various forms of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, including food grains, vaccines, and essential medicines, amid ongoing challenges in the region. The latest assistance underscores New Delhi’s focus on maintaining people-to-people ties and supporting public welfare initiatives in the country.

Officials said that the medical assistance will help improve healthcare delivery in several Afghan provinces, particularly in rural areas where medical infrastructure remains limited.
