Anantnag, Aug 17: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall across several districts of Jammu and Kashmir in the next 56 hours, raising concerns of possible flash floods, cloudbursts, and landslides.The districts likely to be affected include Anantnag, Kulgam, parts of Central and North Kashmir, Doda, Jammu, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba, and Udhampur.Authorities have urged residents, especially those living in low-lying and landslide-prone areas, to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel during the period of intense rainfall.“People are advised to stay alert, take necessary precautions, and dial 112 in case of any emergency,” an official advisory stated.
