Govt Approves ₹72 Crore Used Water Management Projects for Baramulla, Rajouri

Omar Abdullah on Saturday announced that the government has approved major Used Water Management Projects for Baramulla and Rajouri districts aimed at strengthening sanitation infrastructure and addressing growing wastewater challenges in the Union Territory.

In a post shared on X, the Chief Minister said that the government has sanctioned a ₹37.96 crore project for Baramulla and a ₹34.43 crore project for Rajouri.

According to the Chief Minister, the projects are intended to ensure scientific treatment of sewage, prevent pollution of water bodies, and improve overall public health and hygiene standards in the two districts.

“The Government has approved Used Water Management Projects for Baramulla (₹37.96 crore) and Rajouri (₹34.43 crore) to strengthen sanitation infrastructure and address wastewater challenges,” Omar Abdullah said in his post.

He further stated that the projects would play a significant role in improving living conditions by reducing environmental pollution and ensuring safer sanitation systems for residents.
