Srinagar, July 4:In a heartening development at the convocation ceremony of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir (SKUAST-K), girl students walked away with the majority of gold medals, drawing praise from Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister expressed pride in the remarkable achievement of the young women, describing it as a sign of the changing times and the rising role of women in shaping the future of the country.

“Daughters of the country are scripting a golden future with their brilliance and continue to shine bright,” he said, extending warm congratulations to the awardees and their families. He particularly acknowledged the “silent sacrifices, support, and belief” of the parents, crediting them for nurturing this success.Addressing the graduating students, Omar Abdullah described them as the “new torchbearers” of society.

“The world needs your knowledge, yes, but more importantly, it needs your courage, your compassion and your character,” he stated.The convocation ceremony was marked by enthusiasm, pride, and celebration as students, faculty, and families gathered to honor academic excellence and bid farewell to the outgoing batch.
