May 11: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi on Sunday conducted a comprehensive review of the security situation along India’s western frontier following ceasefire and airspace violations by Pakistan on the night of May 10–11.

According to the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI), Indian Army, General Dwivedi held detailed discussions with top commanders deployed on the western borders. Taking serious note of the violations, the Army Chief issued clear directives and delegated full operational authority to field commanders to take appropriate countermeasures.

“In light of the ceasefire and airspace violations during the night of May 10-11, 2025, General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, reviewed the prevailing security scenario with Army Commanders stationed along the Western Borders,” the Army stated on its official X handle.

“The COAS has vested full authority in the Army Commanders to initiate counteraction in the kinetic domain against any breach of the understanding established during the DGMO-level talks held on May 10,” the statement added.

The developments come amid heightened vigilance along the Line of Control, with the Indian Army reaffirming its commitment to uphold peace while maintaining operational readiness to respond to any provocation.
