Jammu, April 29:
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Monday chaired a high-level meeting to review the Capital Expenditure (Capex) Budget proposals for the financial year 2025–26. The meeting focused on finalizing priority projects, improving infrastructure at the grassroots level, and ensuring timely completion of ongoing works.

Choudhary underscored the importance of outcome-based planning and directed departments to align their project proposals with measurable developmental goals. He stressed that budget allocations must translate into visible results on the ground, especially in rural and underserved areas.

Highlighting delays in previous projects, the Deputy CM called for strict accountability mechanisms to fast-track development initiatives. “Departments must adhere to deadlines and maintain transparency at every stage. Any laxity will invite strict action,” he warned.

He further instructed officials to enhance coordination among departments and improve monitoring systems to track project progress effectively. The meeting also discussed strategies to eliminate procedural bottlenecks and ensure optimal utilization of allocated funds.

Senior officials from the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department and representatives from various executing agencies were present at the review meeting.
