New Delhi, June 11: The Congress party on Wednesday expelled senior Madhya Pradesh leader and former MLA Laxman Singh from its primary membership for a period of six years, citing anti-party activities.
Laxman Singh, the younger brother of veteran Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, faced disciplinary action following allegations of working against the party’s interests.In an official statement, Tariq Anwar, Member Secretary of the Congress Disciplinary Action Committee, said,
“The Congress president has expelled Laxman Singh, former MLA from Madhya Pradesh, from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress for six years with immediate effect due to anti-party activities.”
The move marks a significant disciplinary step by the party leadership amid ongoing efforts to assert internal cohesion.
