JAMMU, June 11: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district have detained a suspected drug peddler under the stringent provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, police said on Wednesday.

The accused, identified as Sunny Kumar alias Sundi, a resident of Bareri in Nowshera, is a repeat offender with a history of involvement in multiple drug-related cases across the border district, a police spokesperson said.

Acting on a detention warrant issued by the competent authority, police took Kumar into custody and lodged him in Jammu Jail, the spokesperson added.
