MAY 21: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested five individuals in separate anti-narcotics operations across Awantipora, Pampore, and Kulgam, recovering narcotic substances and cash suspected to be linked to drug trade.
In Awantipora, two suspects—Mayser Ahmad Sheikh of Ladermar and Arshid Ahmad Sheikh of Gadibal Handwara—were apprehended at Kaigam Crossing with 315 grams of charas. A case (FIR No. 119/2025) has been registered at Police Station Awantipora.
In a separate operation in Pampore’s Kadlabal area, police arrested Firdous Ahmad Mir alias Fir Codein and Sahil Shafi Khan, seizing 2.25 grams of brown sugar and ₹12,000 in suspected drug money. The case is registered under FIR No. 57/2025.
The police have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying the crackdown on drug peddlers in the region.
